What is Focusing?

<

Focusing is a natural process of tapping the body’s wisdom that can be used in all areas of a person’s life. It is a growing practice, worldwide, which was first introduced by Eugene Gendlin at the University of Chicago in the 1960’s, after extensive research proved it to be an effective way of reconnecting to your internal source of self-knowledge.

Once you learn this skill, you can do it by yourself, with a partner, or in a group.

Focusing can help you in your personal, professional, creative, or spiritual life.   It can enrich your relationships and help you find peace in solitude.  Focusing can ease physical and emotional pain and can be used effectively in connection with medical treatments or psychotherapy.  It can release blocks to professional growth, to personal happiness, to creative productivity.

Combined with community wellness practices, Focusing can help build healthy communities.

Looking inside opens doors to the outside world.
