- Are you looking for simple ways to support children to connect with their inner experience, and sense the wisdom of their bodies?
- How about you? Would you like simple ways to connect with your own inner experience and sense the wisdom of your body?
- Would you enjoy a delightful, affordable vacation experience for yourself or with the children in your life?
Heidrun Essler, a Focusing Coordinator based in Germany has had a dream of bringing together adults and children to learn together in a relaxed setting in nature… and this year we have the perfect place! (For those who don’t know her, Heidrun teaches internationally with children and adults both in academic and business environments.)In August 2019, we have an opportunity to live this dream at St Andrew’s House, a retreat and conference center in Union, Washington—a favorite location for the Northwest Focusing Gathering. The lodge itself is a beautiful, welcoming place, nestled among the trees with a gorgeous view of the Olympic Mountains across the water. (Please see the ‘Location’ tab for more information.)
Heidrun’s rich experience with both children and adults and her sprightly, engaging teaching style, will enliven you–whether you are on your own, or are a grandparent, parent, aunt or uncle; teacher, or caregiver. In this workshop you will practice ways to naturally use Focusing in your daily life for yourself, your clients or with your youngest relatives. Although this course is not specifically designed for clinicians, what we explore will enhance connections with children.
Rounding out the team for this workshop is Nina Joy Lawrence, Focusing Coordinator and the former U.S. Children’s Focusing contact. She is also a very active Community Wellness advocate.

Adult participants will be with them for some of these activities, using what we have been learning in our separate training time with Heidrun.

Many young parents don’t have the resources to participate and bring their children. And grandparents who would like to attend are often on lower fixed incomes.
Yet – we are committed to accepting everyone regardless of financial resources, and encourage scholarship recipients to pay only as much as they are able.
So that we can continue to enable them to participate, please consider contributing to our scholarship fund. A donation of any amount will help to cover the shortfall. You will be making a difference in their lives!
