

Francesca Castaldi
Dr. Francesca Castaldi is a certified Focusing Coordinator and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. She can offer Focusing sessions and trainings in three languages (English, Italian, Spanish) and is dedicated in supporting people in finding aliveness and healing in a process that is trauma friendly,historically aware, culturally appropriate, and somatically centered. Francesca has sustained a 25 years commitment in movement somatics and engaged in critical studies of personhood and embodiment, the anthropology of the body and dance, through a Ph.D. in Dance History and Theory from the University of California, Riverside (2001), and previous degrees from the University of Chicago and the University of California, Berkeley. She is the author of Choreographers of African Identities (University of Illinois Press, 2006) a book about dance and politics in urban Senegal and in U.S. theatres. Francesca was born in Milano, Italy and left the country when she was 18 to live in the USA. She presently lives in Argentina and the USA and is passionate about supporting people who are committed to or wanting to find a life of wellness that includes peace building, sustainable ecology, improvisation, and decolonization.
