Jerry Conway has been a Focusing Trainer since 2003 and became involved in Community Wellness Focusing when working with Pat Omidian and Nina Joy Lawrence in Afghanistan in 2005. Since 2009, he has been leading a project to bring Community Wellness Focusing to Gaza, supporting the work of the Palestine Trauma Centre – UK & Gaza. People in war-torn regions have taught him the importance of using creativity to teach Focusing using drawing, drama and objects which have become a feature of all his courses. As Co-chair of the British Focusing Association (BFA), he was instrumental in turning BFA into a Limited Company and helped to run the first UK Focusing School. He is a Quaker and teaches a Focusing-related Quaker practice called the Meditation on the Light. He has worked for 30 years in Social Care and Social Work and lives in Britain near Birmingham.
